Happy International Women's Day! Did you know that women played a vital role in the war effort? While the Martin Bomber Plant was in operation at Offutt Air Force Base, 40% of their workforce were women!
Meet the enemies of archival collections: metal paperclips, staples, and rubber bands. Why do we not like them? Because, over time, they cause permanent damage to items of all kinds, ESPECIALLY paper.
Remember to go through your papers and replace them with plastic paperclips!
After 13 years of service, Director Ben Justman has decided to step down, effective March 9th. The Sarpy County Museum will host an appreciation open house on March 9, from 2-4pm.
Please RSVP by message by March 7th, 2024.

One-hundred years ago today in the Papillion Times newspaper, A.W. Clarke Bank shows an ad. A.W. Clarke bank was started in 1880 by Augustus W. Clarke. The bank on Washington St. is currently being used as a boutique space and many of the original bank elements can still be seen.
All this nice weather has us thinking about some of the best historic spots in Sarpy County to take a walk- like Schramm Park in Gretna! What are some of the places you like to explore in Sarpy?
A new exhibit at the Sarpy County Museum is ready for you to see, just in time for school tours next week! Stop in Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-4pm, to learn more about Sarpy County history, thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and staff.
As we brainstorm some updates to our current and future museum we'd like to know- What do you like most about visiting museums? What do you like to see? Chime off in the comments below!
Thank you to everyone who donated to the museum through the Midlands Community Foundation Matching Charitable Program! With your support, we raised over $130,000. That's amazing! π₯³π₯³

A favorite display among children is our Telephones of Yesterday display. Why? Because, "I think grandma has a phone like that!"
Have many of you still have a flip phone, corded phone, or rotary? π
Built in 1860, the John Sautter farmhouse sat on around 800 acres of farmland. Being unoccupied since 1913, the house was preserved and moved to its current location in 1979. You can visit the house today by contacting the Papillion Historical Society.
