'Indigenous people in many ways have been oppressed as objects of Western research but not the agents of outcomes. The theories that inform them & questions they generate must be carefully & critically considered. Put another way, it must be decolonised.

Yesssss I loved this session. Sasha’s comments on decolonising research ensuring that Indigenous knowledges are both valued and told by and for Indigenous Peoples was so powerful.
The Torres Strait 8 have won the landmark UN case!!

#IWD2022. Approached by top tier law firm to speak, as an #INDIGENOUS woman, at the event on a topic I would need to do research and miss work. I asked for an honorarium fee & never heard from the law firm again. The irony, that they think we should still work for free #law
