My first encounter with a protest was in 2005. As a child, I had no idea what was happening in #Balochistan. Someone told me that her brother, Hanif Shareef, was forcibly disappeared by the Army. Hanif was released, but today, Syed Bibi herself has been forcibly disappeared 💔
A full year has passed since the enforced disappearance of Ghani Baloch, yet there is still no news of his whereabouts. His family continues to search for answers while state institutions remain silent.
Ghani Baloch was an educated scholar and political activist committed to peaceful struggle and academic work. His enforced disappearance is not only a grave violation of human rights but also part of the broader crisis faced by countless families in Balochistan who continue to live with uncertainty, fear, and silence. No family should have to endure such pain without justice or acknowledgment.
The international community, human rights organizations, and democratic voices must urgently raise their voices and demand accountability, transparency, and justice for Ghani Baloch and thousands of other forced disappeared persons in Balochistan.

The bloodshed in Kuntani, Gwadar is another brutal reminder that the lives of Baloch civilians continue to be treated as expendable under militarized policies in Balochistan. Reports of security forces opening fire on unarmed Baloch labourers, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries, expose the violent reality hidden behind state narratives of “development” and “security.” The people of Gwadar are facing bullets, checkpoints, disappearances, and collective punishment while their homeland is handed over for strategic and economic interests.
For years, the Baloch population in Gwadar has endured militarization, intimidation, arbitrary detentions, and systematic exclusion from their own resources and coastline. The same region promoted globally as an economic gateway has become a place where indigenous families struggle for basic survival, access to water, freedom of movement, and safety from state violence. A development model built on fear, repression, and the silencing of local communities cannot be called progress.
The international community must stop ignoring the worsening human rights crisis in Balochistan. The continued targeting of civilians, enforced disappearances, and deadly crackdowns demand immediate independent investigation and accountability. Silence in the face of these violations only strengthens impunity and prolongs the suffering of the Baloch people.

Advocate Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali have now spent 100 days in prison. They were punished after raising their voices for victims of injustice and enforced disappearances. This case raises a serious question. Is standing with the oppressed a crime. Is speaking for fundamental rights a crime. Their continued detention for speaking the truth and demanding lawful protections reflects a grave injustice.
Both are legal professionals who have consistently defended families of the forcibly disappeared and other vulnerable communities. Their work reflects a clear commitment to justice, accountability, and dignity. Their imprisonment signals a shrinking space for dissent and creates fear among those who pursue justice through lawful means.
Their continued detention conflicts with Pakistan’s obligations under international law. The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights guarantees freedom of expression, fair trial rights, and protection from arbitrary detention under Articles 9, 14, and 19. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights affirms these protections under Articles 9 and 19. The UN Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers require that lawyers perform their duties without intimidation or interference. These obligations demand immediate compliance.
Immediate suspension of their sentences is required. Immediate release must follow. Authorities must ensure a fair and transparent judicial review, uphold due process guarantees, and end the misuse of legal provisions against human rights defenders.

Broken fingers, damaged eyes, faces riddled with bullets, burned bodies, throats cut ,
this is how our loved ones are being returned to their mothers 💔
JUST to strengthen its war narrative, Pakistan is killing innocent, abducted Baloch youth https://t.co/AhtS4HUjdG
Reports from Panjgur’s Parom area confirm that five Baloch men, who were earlier forcibly disappeared by Security forces, were killed in a staged encounter. Their bodies were shifted to a local hospital, where families identified them. Witness accounts and local reports indicate clear signs of torture and mutilation on the bodies, raising serious concerns about custodial abuse prior to their killing.
The pattern remains consistent across Balochistan. Victims are detained without warrants and denied access to families or legal process. After days or weeks, their mutilated bodies are returned under the label of an encounter. This sequence of enforced disappearance followed by extrajudicial execution reflects a structured practice rather than isolated incidents. It points to systematic violations carried out with impunity.
The targeting of young Baloch men in areas like Panjgur shows a deliberate state policy. These actions aim to suppress political expression and instill fear within communities. The repetition and scale of such cases indicate a coordinated campaign against Baloch youth. This demands urgent international investigation and accountability for crimes that meet the threshold of genocide.

Qamber Baloch, son of Khuda Baksh, a young student from Sohlo, Buleda, was not just a name ,he was a life, a dream, a future taken away.
On October 7, 2025, Qamber Baloch was forcibly disappeared from his home in Sohlo, Buleda.
For 6 months, his family waited in pain, in hope, in silence.
On April 8, 2026, his lifeless body was dumped in D-Baloch, Turbat. His body carried multiple bullet wounds and visible signs of brutal torture ,a clear mark of cruelty and injustice. This is not law. This is violence.
BYC strongly condemns this ongoing brutality. Enforced disappearances, torture, and killing of Baloch youth without any trial, without any charges ,this is a direct violation of human rights and the Constitution of Pakistan. No court, no justice, only silence and fear.
How long will families wait for their loved ones, only to receive their dead bodies? How long will this continue?
BYC calls upon international human rights organizations to take urgent action. The situation in Balochistan is worsening ,extrajudicial killings, target killings, and enforced disappearances are increasing day by day.
