Nobody becomes a great writer by studying great writing. They become a great writer by writing badly for a long time and slowly getting less bad. The reading helps. It cannot substitute for the volume of bad writing that has to happen first. There's no shortcut through that part.
Anyone following my writing knows that I have been with a small indie publisher since my debut launched in 2022.
In 2027, I'm breaking from SRL to set up my own publishing house, SALTWATER PRESS, working on my own terms and taking on new upcoming writers.

I always read with interest various complaints people have about this platform. How many haters there are, how political it is, how antagonistic people can be for no reason at all. Not sure if I am living a charmed life, but I see none of that on my feed. I have developed a community of around 160 people with whom I interact on a regular basis. I love these guys. They make it worth waking up in the morning and opening the app. So thank you to all of my mutuals. You guys rock. Love and kindness win.
@ZsaffrynTerra I pray you are doing better by now. Good that there is something the doctors can work on. Please be kind to yourself. Dogs are very intuitive they understand what is going on around them. They pick up on so much and show empathetic concern.
Get well speedily!
Oh, the mystery surrounding some characters. The degree to which authors withhold information directly determines the depth they give their characters. Their silences or private secrets are used to drive narrative tension.

Nomy’s uniqueness lies in her total emotional flatlining when facing authority; I am told this is a Gen Z trait; if authority becomes an inconvenience.
She stands out in BBNaija history because her rule-breaking was explicitly aimed at authority rather than at her peers.
Big Brother is a psychological pressure cooker. Nomy's specific pattern of cold, systematic anti-authoritarianism had me clutching my chest. She was protesting BB’s sovereignty; trying to systematically dismantle BB’s absolute power. I cowered from this, but she bulldozed
Like Big Brother Nomy, Diogenes, Joan of Arc, Garry Davis were people who completely ignored authority, felt zero compunction, and acted with absolute certainty of their own righteousness, individuals whose internal compass totally overrode the systems around them.
Nomy brought a certain flair to the game. She initiated conflict. She wasn’t a fictional “expired mannequin”. She was real, pulsating, throbbing, a li’l off but not flat! Liked her like that. And I knew her days were numbered. Why, she did the numbering!
