I've been at work lately, both on features & content:
adding support for quests, proper dialogs, items, loot tables, status effects, attack types, enemy types, maps, player skills...
Now im connecting systems together and adding QoL

Combat is still rough, but more interesting than before, equipment is now visible on the player and affects stats, sprite sorting now allows for bigger visual elements, difficulty levels are in, I'm now adding sound effects

i don't really know how to articulate this but gamedev programmers are on an entire other level to non-games programmers
repeatedly needing to solve problems that have never existed before, because the world you're creating them in has never existed changes you as a person
@LeoSandbox I think that when possible, it's nice for indie Devs to take part in making Linux gaming a bigger thing by increasing the list of Linux playable games
