think we’re asking the wrong question.

Bitcoin isn’t primarily a savings app or a payments app.

It’s a better form of money.

Better money changes behaviour. People naturally choose when to save it, when to spend it, when to invest it, and when to use it as collateral based on their own circumstances.

Education shouldn’t begin with “save” or “spend.”

It should begin with understanding money, purchasing power, and why value moves the way it does.

Once people understand that, whether they save or spend becomes an informed decision rather than an ideology.

Bitcoin Ekasi drew a lot of attention when we launched in 2021.

Some looked at what we were doing, saw a charity, and went and built charities instead of circular economies.

But we are not a charity.

Our base-layer, @the_surfer_kids, was entirely self-sustaining between 2015 and 2019, and recovery from addiction taught our founder, @vryfokkenou, something very valuable:

Everybody needs help. But external help without internal discipline produces dependency.

The same principle can be applied to BCEs.
