Sparta was the worst city-state of antiquity to safeguard greek interests vis-a-vis Persia.
Sparta founded only one colony and did so after expelling a whole generation of "bastards" according to Spartan law.
Sparta never ushered in a new era of artistic, philosophical or technological creation. Their economic system even barred currency (made currency extremely impractical to use) their whole mindset was limited to dominating the Peloponnese and after 30 years of brutal hostilities with Athens when they finally did come to preside over the Greek world they gave back to Persia all gains made during the Greco-Persian wars.
I personally can't fathom how could someone, let alone a (modern) Greek still hold Sparta in high regard.
@g2upm@Curious_Rum Only hard-core orthodox glaze serbs. And that's a very small part of the population. The majority just see them as another balkan slav population no different from croats or Bulgarians
@Albanianismvs@Curious_Rum The arvanites had like 15 villages in messenia mate. Out of over 200 others. Of course there were others that arrived in the 1300s that were lost in translation over time.
@top_s8789@Williamthesir29@familymvsn He didnt know shit lol. Turks are literally racial remnants of all the different people's that have passed through anatolia
@Curious_Rum Albanians primary component is ANF. ANF without any other influences looks middle eastern.
I mean just look at Edi Rama for example. He could easily pass as Iranian lol
