I’m seeing now that the Yankees are reportedly “open” to trading Spencer Jones now and I want to list a few reasons why that would be a horrible idea, (a thread):
In less than 18 months, MAGA has managed to bring back measles. They defunded the Ebola monitoring program that likely resulted in an what is an emergent pandemic. Now, they’ve allowed the food supply to be contaminated by a deadly parasite not seen in the U.S. since 1966.
Leader: New Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. took the team’s entire WR group out to the 4 Charles Prime Rib steakhouse in New York City.
OBJ has brought immediate leadership to the room.
A true role model on and off the field 👏
Giving Spencer Jones/Dominguez a run if Judge has to miss significant time is not a bad strategy. Jones’ contact in the minors has been sufficient since May, and they can see if his power can play up in the majors.
Yankees now should be looking at Catcher Ryan Jeffers, Middle INF CJ Abrams & Xavier Edwards as well as maybe looking at bringing up Spencer Jones again for Center Field. Trent Grisham is completely useless.
CHANGES MUST BE MADE.
With Aaron Judge likely out for 2+ months, the Yankees must act NOW on filling holes that they ignored by "running it back" this previous offseason and now it's backfiring.
Catcher, Shortstop & Center Field need to be addressed as soon as possible.
See Brian Cashman? See @Yankees this is why you DON'T take a failed offense and run it back when the previous team disappointed. Now Aaron Judge is injured and nobody else was brought in offensively to keep the run production high.
Aaron Judge underwent 3 different forms of imaging over the past 24 hours. You don’t do that if the injury is clear cut and obvious.
You order an MRI, x-ray and CT scan when you’re trying to nail down the exact diagnosis and get clarity.
At this point I’ll be really surprised if he doesn’t go on the IL.
I’m expect him to miss at least 4 weeks, potentially longer. Season-ending? At this point it has to be on the table. Hopefully it’s mild and we get some clarity soon.
Fun Fact: Odell Beckham Jr. had more receiving yards from weeks 10-12 in his rookie season (476) than Hyatt has had his whole career (470).
In no world should Hyatt be wearing 13 over OBJ.
"The way that I had to walk away, it was unsettling in my soul. I have to do this. This is for myself, this is for my son. I want him to be able to see who I am, not who I was, and know that we never give up in our house. You go after what you believe in."
- Odell Beckham Jr.
I genuinely don’t understand. Judge is slumping and not hitting well. And they know something is wrong with his shoulder that’s messing with his hitting. Yet they continued to have him play instead of catching it early and not making it worse. Something is horribly wrong with this org
