There was plenty Dante dreaded. The existence of Limbo, for one, but that grievance was never-ending. The next would be law enforcement, finding him in an alleged "deranged" state.
He was lucky they didn't open fire.

-- chose his fate had decided he was worth saving. Something about pleading insanity seemed worthwhile, the court ordering a psych eval to ensure he wasn't faking.
It's difficult to fake something so real, so vivid. Maybe all those demons finally got to him, maybe not. --
