Jury selection is underway in the trial of LaJeromeny Brown, the man charged with capital murder for the death of Huntsville PD STAC officer Billy Clardy.
There are around 200 jurors being combed through by attorneys.

Remember, the nationwide emergency alert test is today at 1:20p CT. A few notes…

*If you have a hidden phone due to a domestic violence/abuse situation, be sure and power the phone down completely. And, be aware the tone could sound when you turn the phone back on.

*The tone you will hear is the same one used for tornado warnings, high impact flash flood warnings, and amber alerts. It is nothing new.

*You will NOT hear the loud tone for 30 minutes. It will be the same short burst you receive for tornado/flash flood warnings.

*Please don’t turn off emergency alerts on your phone. If you do that, you will miss tornado warnings. And, miss the chance to help someone with a child that has been kidnapped when an amber alert is issued. WEA alerts always need to be ON.

*There is also an EAS (Emergency Alert System) portion of the test that local radio/TV stations will air.

*You won’t turn into a zombie, and today doesn’t mark the beginning of World War 3. Please don’t listen to the imbeciles on TikTok.

This experience was nothing short of terrifying.

My photographer and I covered a memorial service for a murdered teen, and ended up in the middle of a crime scene overnight.

We feared for our lives as a masked gunman stopped feet in front of our news car, and fired off multiple rounds minutes later.

I did my best to keep my composure and explain our experience step by step on live TV.

It’s one of those things you wish you’d never experience. I’m eternally thankful for God’s grace and protection. 🙏🏽

Loretta Carr and her daughter are charged with pushing Mary “Beth” Isbell off a cliff at Little River Canyon.

Today, Judge Steven Whitmire decided to SEAL all pretrial proceedings in relation to Carr’s case.
