It's been a month since this tweet and my stance on Cameron Boozer hasn't changed, if anything, I've only felt more confident with it.
If you want to hear more about why that is then my evaluation on Substack is out and linked in my reply.
I've been deeply considering Boozer's case for the number one spot over the last few weeks, one that revolves around his future as a shooter and I was starting to see the vision but upon further examination...nah y'all.
I still think the sheets heavily misrepresent this prospect
I could write a whole thinkpiece on why Brunson "emptying the clip" has been essential for the Knicks' lead in the Finals but I think the fact that the Spurs saw him go 12-31 on 1v1 coverage but still felt the need to send the house at him in G2 says it all.
@emanfbtalk KAT's excessive reaching and how much Knicks helped off capable shooters seem like killers but if their offense can keep clicking, don't know how much it'll matter, especially if the Spurs keep missing from deep like they did in G1.
@play_keeps24777 You don't even need the length or screen nav, stopping him is as simple as having the ability to stonewall and as long as it isn't a slow-footed 7fter, they can keep up with him laterally so he'll force up a bad shot. Rui and Bey are quick examples of bad defenders who do that.
One of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life is people act like there's none or that it's a short list when anyone that has a high BMI has put clamps on Wemby all season long.
@JBBHoops1 I feel like fans are trying to trick themselves into believing that what they're seeing isn't real or something, maybe because he came out of nowhere, it boggles my mind. Everything that fans are saying his peers SHOULD be doing, Brunson has BEEN doing. No one is even shocked.
I'll see how I feel when the Finals are done with but Jalen Brunson is the best offensive player in a playoff environment that you can ask for and wasn't involved in a single defensive action as the Knicks got a Finals win.
Why's he not the best in the world?
He's the best playoff performer in the entire sport, something that should guarantee at least BITW conversation and nobody cares because they have an inaccurate agenda to get off. The future will look back on the discourse surrounding him and laugh.
Josh Hart is probably the best below 6-5 rebounder since Jason Kidd
at maintaining his posture on vertical jumps with a lean and using his strong lower back/core strength to control his reach at various angles.
Even after lands, next movement is seamless.
If you, hand on the bible, think that KAT is better for whatever reason then you have to rethink how you analyze the game. They are in different stratospheres. KAT vs OG is the better conversation to have.
@JBBHoops1 What do you think about comparing Acuff to CJ McCollum instead? Obviously CJ was further ahead coming out but his NBA self seems very reminiscent to me
@PrimeTmacceroni It's their best option sure, but definitely not a good one. A constant throughout this season and even these playoffs is that Wemby against lineups where everyone can space the floor so he has to roam off a capable shooter creates a lot of problems for the Spurs D.
Spurs have to focus on getting KAT in foul trouble and obliterating the minutes when he's off the floor because I don't know if they'll have a counter for how much he spaces out Wemby.
His lack of feel is exposed against lineups where he can't roam off anybody.
