Florence is one of many lovely, residential streets in Lewisham which suffer from excessive traffic, speeding, noise and pollution. We want to fix it.

Another afternoon and the road is packed with idling cars on our doorsteps. This is taken from the opposite end of where the cars turn off from Florence to the A2. @LewishamCouncil @SophieMcGeevor @SteviePenfold @vickyfoxcroft @TfL

@Love_SE4 @SophieMcGeevor @SteviePenfold @LewishamCouncil @vickyfoxcroft This isn't a scheme, but roadworks and road rage causing traffic build-up the length of our road both ways in seconds. The cars causing it quickly moved out of the way but the queue just moved to start at the A2 turning. The A2 turn regularly causes queues on our doorsteps.

2 cars face each other on a narrow part of our road w/angry drivers refusing to move, causing this mess and yet another queue on our doorsteps. Traffic immediately builds up, but Flo isn't set up for this volume of 🚗 @SophieMcGeevor @SteviePenfold @LewishamCouncil @vickyfoxcroft

@iambrianjones Our rd's also narrow w/narrow pavements, making it unsafe for pedestrians and cyclists. Parking along the road in evenings means it's made narrower, turning drivers angry+loud when they are unable to get through and emergency services get stuck. Hope that gives an idea of FloRo.

@iambrianjones Yes, that's right. Traffic avoiding New Cross and the main roads. Traffic here is pretty constant both ways and cars turning right to join the A2 causes queues the length of the road.

@iambrianjones Yes, that's right. Drakefell has a proposal. Malpas doesn't as far as I know. Florence getting organised is in the early stages and we have a variety of things that cause issues for residents.

Currently on Florence Road, the queue for cars turning onto the A2 runs the entire length of the road. This must be addressed. @TfL @LewishamCouncil @SophieMcGeevor @SteviePenfold @JimiAdefiranye
