Urgent: Plan to start demolition of Vittoria was announced by Balfour Beatty / Mayor of London / LLDC - while everyone is on holiday. We will not let this happen and London needs to know. PLEASE SHARE VIDEO AND SIGN PETITION. https://t.co/ztQaMd1q6h
MSG Sphere application has been referred to Mayor of London. It would look very like this one in Vegas, but on a cramped site in Stratford with residential properties on 3 sides, some just 50m away.
Decision by 20 Nov so object NOW via the comments form.

@ChaponaBike123@bluesbreaker196 I wouldn’t overtake approaching a pedestrian crossing. You can’t see properly what’s there. I understand you can overtake ON an empty crossing. But if you see one ahead I would hold back. I didn’t spot the other cyclist(s)!
Environmental impact - zero carbon target not met, carbon emissions so high £2.6m offsetting required. Not compliant with London plan - cycling modal share just 0.44%.
Other - only 175FTE resident jobs in construction & 543 once operational, split across all 5 boroughs.
5/5
Noise pollution for residents from 21,500 people leaving at night.
Impact on heritage & local townscape - not in keeping with the local area and will damage the setting of nearby heritage buildings
Building height - almost as tall as Big Ben it will dominate the area
4/5
...and Stadium inevitable and would see “significantly higher levels of crowding and delays”.
Highway safety - LLDC acknowledges "uncertainty" remains regarding the illuminated facade's impact on road safety & distraction
Traffic - an extra 863,590 car movements per year 3/5
Loss of residential amenity:
Scale of development is overbearing.
Residents, some 50-75m away, will suffer from light pollution.
Stratford station already has dangerous overcrowding and LLDC acknowledges it'll see worse congestion in some areas. Concurrent events at Sphere... 2/5
If Kermit's back that must mean...
The MSG Sphere application has finally been referred to the Mayor of London.
His decision is expected on 20 Nov so please send in your objections NOW on their simple form. https://t.co/NarZxYJyfh

We really don't understand how the Lee Valley Park is getting a Green Flag award for the #Waterworks considering its shocking neglect of the Nature Reserve and Waterworks Centre!
@facebook took this down from our Facebook site! "A group participant shared a post that goes against our Community Standards on cybersecurity" Idiots!
A petition calling to bring back Growing Concerns garden centre at Wick Lane has attracted 820 signatures (and counting!) 🌵🌻🪴
The community garden closed in autumn last year after Clarion Housing terminated its lease.

Important. Pls spread word
100,000s of people, mostly women age 66+ who took were off work for childcare between 1978 & 2010, are due to get HMRC letter that may be worth £10,000s due to underpaid state pensions. It isn't a scam DON'T bin the letter. See https://t.co/5a9fNY8YFZ
@TheMurkyDepths#Newham is London's joint 2nd poorest borough. It won't be locals who can afford to go to the Sphere, it'll be 1000s of people coming from elsewhere who have the privilege of leaving it & going home. East London's residents have had countless developments done to them. Not again.
@leytoncyclist@_judetheobscure@StopMSGSphere@TheMurkyDepths@Redbus51 Gentrification is an issue. The Olympics destroyed a valuable industrial district providing jobs for local people falsely written off as a wasteland. People also mistake Stratford City (Westfield, International Quarter, East Village) as part of the Olympics. Nothing to do with it
