Great speakers this year at Rockbrook Biodiversity Festival - lots of free events but book quickly! A lovely way for the family to learn about biodiversity around us in beautiful historic surroundings!
Hey folks, @RockbrookGreen have three amazing talks & walks coming up next week. All free but booking is essential. Please share 🌱🌳🌎

"Huge amounts of plastic from artificial grass end up in the sea
Fibres from artificial grass make up 15 per cent of plastic pieces found in samples of seawater near Barcelona."
.
What a day for Knocklyon Park! The Astro Part 8 has been REJECTED and our beloved park is safe! Thanks to the 1000s who raised submissions (99.7% against this!) + marched, + our local Cllrs who ensured this was rejected + the wishes of park users + residents won out!! 🦇🦡🦔
Not just #microplastics but #macroplastics to worry about! It shouldn't shock that synthetic, unrecyclable plastics brushed full of used tyre waste are polluting, but it's shocking they're still being installed- even on existing grass pitches! @sdublincoco !

Sickening.
It. Should. Be. Banned.

Great discussion on Today with Claire Byrne regarding the negatives of astro pitches! @sdublincoco please leave the biodiversity of Knocklyon Park alone and spend the money on other, wanted sports facilities. Even the local GAA club don't want an astro here!
Fantastic article- sports pitches are vitally important but astropitches are polluting, toxic, disliked by many players+ facing an EU ban. Replacing an excellent gras pitch in a nature park with 3 acres of plastic is madness! No-one wants this here! @sdublincoco@Bodengaa
Habitat loss and microplastic pollution from the explosion of artificial sports pitches in Dublin is provoking serious concern during the biodiversity crisis.

Check out this wonderful video of OUR Beautiful Park! Humans & Animals interacting together as it should be. This will NEVER be seen here again if @sdublincoco get their way. Councillors please vote to SAVE KNOCKLYON PARK
@sdublincoco councillors please do the right thing when voting in July & leave Knocklyon Park a COMMUNITY PARK that’s FREE to use for the ENTIRE COMMUNITY
