I don't mean this as a slight against the developers bc I'm sure the costs are mostly outside their control, but these are over $650k per unit. Without subsidies, you'd have to rent the units (mostly studios!) for over $3,500 per month just to break even! This isn't sustainable.

Today we helped many more tenants fill out the rental assistance application. The app is horrible for middle-income tenants— for the poorest it’s a nightmare. You need an email address, reliable internet access, all kinds of documents.
