I am grateful to be working with EveryLibrary Institute. They have pledged to help Patmos Library through the use of these funds in the most efficient (and tax-free) way possible!
Nora Roberts I can't express how much your exceptionally generous support means to Jamestown. You have shown that hate will not win in our library. The library staff, library board, and I are all celebrating this! You have my deepest thanks.
Good news to share! The library board worked diligently to make sure all the paperwork was ready for the November vote. We are officially back on the ballot! The future is bright for Patmos Library, thank you all so much!
The GoFundMe for Patmos Library (Jamestown, MI, in danger of being shut down over LGBTQ books and having its budget voted down) is heading at full speed towards $100,000.

Jamestown has another chance to set things right and prevent an important community resource from going under. A successful millage vote will ensure the library’s life for years to come!
At the Monday meeting, the library board voted to push for a new millage on the November ballot, hoping that the attention and understanding of the situation will counter the misinformation (and anti-library campaign) that put the library in jeopardy.
All 6 library board members vote yes to get the millage on the ballot again in November. Board president is asking for people who are in support of the library to step up and volunteer on the millage committee.
The children's librarian is now giving a report on their summer reading program activities, including a shark study, sidewalk chalk and rock painting activities. A large number of people here for public comment have left now.
A couple of Jamestown Township residents who voted no on the millage have said they don't want the library to close, but voted no on the millage to send a message to the library board. "I voted no, because I’m concerned with the agenda being pushed by this library," one man said.
Because the well-being of children and families here is directly tied to the library. Families have reached out to me, they've talked to the news, and most importantly, they showed up tonight and absolutely killed it. And our message was totally clear that we love the library
Everyone in support of the Patmos Library brought their absolute A-game tonight. The turnout was amazing and the speakers supporting the library completely knocked it out of the park. I am incredibly inspired as I write this tonight.
At some point you need to reflect on yourself and admit to yourself and everyone else what is true. You DO want to ban books. You DO want to close the library. And you DON'T care about the well-being of the children and families of Jamestown.
