Andromache has found her sweet spot + she's sticking to it! This 10 ft 8 in (3.25 m) sub-adult white shark is pinging in from Old South Shoal, S of Nantucket and W of Davis Bank, MA. She seems to like this area quite a bit! Last year on Oct 1 she started to swim S 😍🦈💥
Now for the Monday white shark roundup! Sub-adult males Cabot + Hirtle are pinging in from northern VA. Juvenile Rose is off of central Maine while sub-adult Helena is S of the Grand Banks of Newfoundland! Andromache + Gladee are in the middle of Cape Cod and Nantucket, MA 😍🦈🎉
Special thanks to Chris Northcott for sharing his encounter with Shark Watch. The small boat spent 20 minutes with this #WhiteShark 800m away from #BlackPole at #StKilda last weekend! 🤙
We are the BALANCE KEEPERS! Many shark species are becoming threatened and endangered due to human activity and interactions. Humans kill approximately 100 million sharks per year. Major threats include commercial fishing, bycatch, and habitat degradation 🌊😌🦈 #WorldOceansDay
Hello Miss May! This 10 ft 2 in (3.098 m) sub-adult white shark is steading swimming off the coast of Las Tunas, Cuba! Be safe out there sweet girl. She's been in the waters off Cuba since May 22nd - in years past she has made her way to Cape Cod, MA for July and August! 🧐🦈🗺️
The OCEANS affect our lives every day - from the air we breathe, to our weather and the food we eat. The world's oceans hold 97% of our planet's water, provide a primary source of protein for nearly 1 billion people, absorb 1/3 of human caused carbon dioxide emissions... 🌊😌🦈
YESTERDAY was a PINGY day! Let's start with the gals sub-adult Freya and juvenile Gladee are off @CapeHatterasNPS, sub-adult Helena is off Sable Island Banks, Nova Scotia, juvenile Rose is off of Virginia Beach, VA and adult MALE Breton is off of Jacksonville, FL! 🧐🦈🎉
Tous aux abris! Nukumi, requin blanc de 4,5 mètres et 1.600 kilos, surnommé la «Reine de l’ocan», est en direction… de l’Europe (vidéo) : https://t.co/cSeQy0t8a4 via @sudpresseonline
A shark's body is naturally denser than water - so we should sink. We do NOT have an air bladder like bony fish to keep us buoyant. Instead the OIL in our LIVER (squalene) is less dense than water and keeps us from sinking to the ocean floor! 🤔🦈💥 #SharkSchool

DYK over 100 million sharks are killed globally each YEAR?! As apex predators, white sharks are central to the functioning of ecosystems + to the maintenance of biodiversity. Removing a top predator disrupts the delicate balance of the food web 😌🦈💙 #SharkSchool#EarthDay2021
You go GIRL... I mean ocean QUEEN! Adult White Shark Nukumi is crossing the Mid-Atlantic Ridge right by the Atlantic Fracture Zone! She started her westward pelagic journey mid February and is thought to be gestating. She measures 17 ft 2 in 3,541 lbs (5.2 m 1606.2 kg) 🥰🦈💥
White sharks are swimming NORTH one by one, hurrah, hurrah! 😉🦈💥 Well, some of them are! Hirtle is off the coast on the NC, VA line. Miss Costa is near the Caryn Seamount, Gladee is off @CapeLookoutNPS, and Breton is in a similar spot just farther out to sea! #MondayMotivation
They call me BLUE EYES! DYK that white sharks have beautiful blue iris's, not solid black? Generally, sharks are considered to have exceptional vision. Some species are estimated to have a lens 7 times the optical power as a human lens (lemon sharks) 🧐🦈💥
