Friends of the Capital Crescent Trail is fighting to preserve parkland and greenspace in Montgomery County. Currently the Purple Line threatens the Trail.
@Marc_Elrich@GovLarryHogan Take this as a blessing and opportunity to re-envision the #PurpleLine as a #Transit route shared by #autonomous shuttles, electric bikes AND of course a Tree-Lined walking/running/biking path.

Let's start replanting #trees now and leave a Walker/#runner lane and an #electric bike lane - @elonmusk please bring some sanity to MD! https://t.co/H1oWNoyvJX

7%?! Did anyone actually read the #PurpleLine PPP contract? Shouldn't we all advocate that scarce #Transportation dollars increases mobility access for all? @elonmusk please save us! #ReplantTheTrees!
Sharing best practices in #t
ransportation https://t.co/igQj7Ga8FV as we still fight for sustainable #Mobility as opposed to developer boondoggle #PurpleLine
"Almost every great idea today, at one time, started out as a not-so-great idea for most. In other words, everything 'usual' today was once 'unusual' when it was first introduced." - Dr.G @drgautamgulati@unusualinc https://t.co/rBC7Qnghsr
@SaveTheTrail Are there any legal steps you are currently planning in order to stop the Purple Line? If I'm correct, an appeal to the US Supreme Court is your only option at this point. Thank you.
@GovLarryHogan@MoCoCouncilMD Obsolete #PurpleLine Rails & Overhead Powerlines can be prevented. There's time to reconsider crushing MD w/ $6B debt. Can @mddems rise to fiscal responsibility in 2018 by chosing Sustainable Efficient Alternatives? https://t.co/DoIDTlWfy3
We can agree that access to mobility is the goal. The problem with the #PurpleLine is that it is a decades old idea. It's the equivalent of a typewriter in 1985. We can do more today for a fraction of the $6B. https://t.co/Sl7xTHXYoq https://t.co/yNChHn1T8P
@SaveTheTrail@mtamaryland In the decades I've spent supporting this project, I've had the chance to see places around the country and world that already have better job accessibility & walkable communities etc. They do it with mass transit including rail transit. Strength of the line is in the geography.
Are you certain #PurpleLine isn't a $6B obsolete Boondoggle no one will ride in 2025? So certain that you want @mtamaryland to empty the TTF every year until 2056? https://t.co/i3t6PPGHz2 https://t.co/LXhtraH97c
This problem @mattyglesias notes is addressed by MD's bipartisan #PurpleLine P3 approach. MD competed build+30 year operation of @PurpleLineMD which incl. dedicated funding, performance incentives, & retains ownership. https://t.co/5jpMNhyjW5 https://t.co/MjKGS5aVBB #MDpolitics
While @LarryHogan and @MoCoCouncilMD waste $6 billion in scarce public funds and make us wait until 2023 for an obsolete #PurpleLine train to reach the station, a #TransportationRevolution is moving everyone else forward https://t.co/048kjwTVbP
“In a perfect world where money was no option, we would put fixed-route service everywhere. But that’s not the case that we have,” said @markdlv Detroit’s chief mobility officer. “What we are interested in is creating a seamless system for our customers.” https://t.co/f2HeFQoMCR
