Climate change is quietly adding to Mumbai's sleep crisis, with a new global analysis estimating that residents lose 84 hours of sleep annually – or roughly 10.5 nights of sleep -- because of high night-time temperatures.
Roughly five hours of this sleep deprivation can be directly attributable to climate change, according to the analysis of 1,338 cities done by not-for-profit Climate Central. @ClimateTrendsIN@ABhiyant_Tiwari@akshaydeoras

The 2.07-km #CoastalRoad tunnel is equipped with 10 cross-passages linking the twin undersea tubes, allowing motorists to escape to the unaffected tunnel during an emergency…BUT, there is NO DEDICATED ACCESS FOR HEAVY VEHICLES SUCH AS #FIRE_ENGINES.
No sprinklers in the tube.
On this day of July 16th in 1999, the Indian Army officially announced that it had evicted the enemy from all Kargil peaks, ridges and outposts along the line of control. Our Tiranga had by then fluttered proudly on these peaks, although Vijay Diwas was announced on 26th July.
All gave their some. But some had to give their all for victory.... 🇮🇳
No victory without sacrifice 🙏
Salute our Braves and Bravehearts 🇮🇳

A card I use offered insurance from ICICI Lombard . I accepted . The insurance document came in an openable transparent polybag.
Even event invites come with more secure packing.
I gave feedback to the card Co. They apologized profusely . And said it would be addressed . Next year same thing happened.
I did not renew thereafter .
Would advise ppl to stay away from ICICI Lombard.
KANIKOOT MASSACRE • February 1931
Months before the events of 13 July 1931 shook Kashmir, another tragedy unfolded in the village of Kanikoot near Nagam.
The village was home to only two Kashmiri Pandit families. One of them was the family of Pandit Zana Bhat, who had settled there generations earlier, developed orchards, and employed local Muslim cultivators. The family was known for its peaceful life and hard work.
Then, on a winter night in February 1931, tragedy struck.
Attackers reportedly arrived at the family's home under the pretext of seeking help. Trusting those at the door, the family opened it. What followed was a horrific massacre.
Nine innocent members of the Pandit Zana Bhat family—including women and children—were killed. The house was then set on fire, leaving behind devastation and grief.
One child survived because he was sleeping separately with a Gujjar servant, who escaped with him through a window, saving his life. Another member of the family survived because he was away studying in Srinagar.
The Kanikoot massacre occurred just months before the communal violence of 1931 spread through parts of Kashmir, including the attacks on Kashmiri Pandit homes and businesses remembered as Batta Loot. For many Kashmiri Pandits, these events mark the beginning of a long chapter of persecution and loss that would leave a lasting scar on the community.
The Kanikoot massacre remains one of the least remembered tragedies in the history of Kashmir.
Nine innocent lives. One family. A wound that time has never healed.
May the innocent victims of Kanikoot always be remembered.

1.27 crore bedsheets, towels, blankets, pillows, and pillow covers were stolen from Indian Railways' AC coaches in just 4 years.
These are AC coaches, generally used by passengers who can afford higher fares and, in many cases, come from financially well-off backgrounds.
This is not just about theft. It reflects a mindset. Public property is treated as if it belongs to no one, even though the cost is ultimately borne by the nation and its taxpayers.
And yes, among those passengers, there will also be people who spend all day abusing India and saying that India can never become a developed country.
Perhaps we should first look in the mirror. Nations don't become world-class only because of better governments or better infrastructure. They also become better when their citizens respect public property, follow basic civic values, and take responsibility for their own actions.
This delivery boy used to buy food with his own money and deliver it every evening to an elderly woman because she had been his school teacher. She had no family left and lived alone. She had become very weak with old age, so before going home every day, he made sure to take food to her.
But now his wedding was taking place, and because he was busy with the wedding preparations, he forgot to deliver food to her. While watching people eat at his own wedding, he suddenly remembered that because of the wedding, he hadn't delivered food to the elderly woman for the last two days, and she must be hungry.
He felt very bad, so still wearing his wedding clothes, he got on his bike and went to her house to deliver food.
On the most important day of his life, he still went to deliver food to that elderly woman. Salute to this delivery boy. He may be poor, but he is truly rich at heart.
Its 1.45 am and i cant sleep bec of severe acidity. I have ulcers. And the last time my ulcers threatened to burst i had to be hospitalized & guess what @icicilombard refused to cover my hospitization cost - bec i hadnt declared my ulcers at the time of taking the policy. But i didnt have ulcers at the time of taking the policy and now they are asking for doctors certificates to confirm i didnt have ulcers at the time of taking the policy. Next they will insist on the car number that kills u in advance so ur family can make a claim. Shame on this @ICICILombard . Am so disgusted. I no longer care abt the refund - i will expose the fraud in their operations
