One hundred twelve souls were finally lifted from the ruins of Sabra after nearly three years beneath the rubble.

Forty were children. Thirty-eight were women. They were carried through Gaza in white shrouds and Palestinian flags while grieving families filled the streets and many more remained missing below the concrete.

Three years of waiting, searching, and mourning ended in one of the largest funerals Gaza has seen. May every buried name be found, every family receive an answer, and every child be remembered.

Iranian organisers sent a message of respect towards the delegation from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan during the funeral of the late Iranian Leader Ali Khamenei.

Reciting the opening verses of Surah al-Fath which speak of Allah SWT granting victory, were recited. The choice prompted discussion online, with many linking it to Afghanistan’s history of defeating major foreign powers, including the British, the Soviet Union and the United States.
