Update is live in the mobile app!

[ScanBerkeley (Archived) @ScanBerkeley]

Heads Up Berkeley: Fire unit status is now pulled into the website! Coming to the mobile app in the coming weeks.

You can now view units per incident and review historical responses starting today.

Thank you @BerkeleyProFire for providing this data publicly. Very appreciated!

Hi all! Been testing this for a while but now wanted to get more users on it!

BerkeleyCrime is now out in testing publicly. This website and IOS app allows you to view the past 24 hours of Berkeley PD/FD calls on a 10-20 minute delay. This sources data from BPD’s log system.

Want to make it very clear: This is not a city-sponsored or endorsed system. I built this to make it easier to access and view the calls.

You can toggle notifications in the IOS app for specific incident types. No android app is currently provided.

There is no cost since this is a personal project of mine. All data comes from BPD and are public records.

Berkeley PD has encrypted.

[The Berkeley Scanner @BerkeleyScanner]

Community members have begun to speak out about a push by @berkeleypolice to make all their radio transmissions private. Alternatives to full encryption exist. Will Berkeley police consider them? MORE: https://t.co/jYDITCrugK

@PopsFreshenmyer They blame the DOJ mandate to protect personal information. They had other options like secondary records channels or using MDTs like Berkeley does. Unfortunately no agency decided to do that and all are moving encrypted instead.

@925mlbfan Correct, I have all the new TG lists already. Berkeley PD is really going to be the only ones left open unfortunately.

See you on the next major incident 👋

Hi all! Been a while!

Richmond PD is in #pursuit of a ADW suspect (on police) and armed robbery suspect. Berkeley PD is monitoring since the pursuit is on the edge of the city.

[ScanBerkeley (Archived) @ScanBerkeley]

#pursuit is now over in Albany, they took the Buchanan exit and one suspect is in custody.

[Scanner Pacific @ScannerPacific]

This is not in LA but I had to post it anyway…In Berkeley there was just a call for a battery via thrown banana. (AUDIO ATTACHED)

Confirmed. Evacuation operations are being canceled, evacuation areas will be reopened shortly.

That will be it for my special coverage. Back to @ScannerPacific. Stay safe. 👋

[ScanBerkeley (Archived) @ScanBerkeley]

The Tsunami Warning has now been canceled by the state. Berkeley is now holding evacuation operations pending confirmation.
