@clairebubblepop Education should not be taxed. There are no tax breaks for these parents that are paying into the system and not using the ยฃ8k per year allocated for their children. Why aren't all parents on high salaries taxed more to fund the state system? Why should 7% fund the 93%.
@technopopulist@bphillipsonMP@Keir_Starmer I want you to seriously consider our immigration policies. This makes me so deeply depressed to this day and I can't see things improving in any direction. You must help
@LBC@NickFerrariLBC Shame on your @bphillipsonMP. You should NOT be in a position of responsibility if you do not to know the figures. If you haven't done any research. If you have failed to engage with the sector you are attacking. If you fail to listen to state teachers that don't want extra kids.
@UKLabour Stop being a mean girl. You're in power now so let's hear some positive stories and less mud slinging. It's so boring. Use facts too. There is no tax break. Education worldwide shouldn't be taxed.
@bphillipsonMP so you're means testing us all for state school places now? You are a shameful woman. There aren't any 'tax breaks'. Your rhetoric is divisive and wrong. No education has VAT on. There are other, more fair ways to raise the money.
@bbcuknewsdesk@guardian are you considering the massive unpack this will have on so many children and so many already overstretched teachers that are leaving the state sector in droves already? Happy to discuss if anyone can see through these short sighted labour policies.
VAT on independent schools is a regressive double tax. Many will move children into the State sector, adversely affecting class sizes & stretched resources.Abandon punitive educational ideology-take a rigorous approach to childrenโs needs & appropriate, just, taxation. Think again:
