Today the @cityoftoronto will raise the Israeli flag — the symbol of a state facing genocide charges at the ICJ, with ICC arrest warrants pending, a state that has killed tens of thousands of innocent civilians, bombed hospitals, killed healthcare workers, and is currently starving 2 million Palestinians while blocking humanitarian aid. I can only imagine the trauma this causes. There has been almost no public debate over this contentious act. If the American flag were to be raised on July 4, I suspect it would spark far more discussion.
