After 22 years as a Probation Officer, one thing has always remained true for me – it’s never been about the money. Like so many others, I go month to month, and my car has definitely seen better days (there’s always that question of whether it’ll pass the next MOT!).
We dont have holidays every year not sure when our next one will be.There is nothing more meaningful than working with people who have lost hope, or who have never had anyone believe in their ability to change. Being part of that journey – even in a small way makes it worthwhile.
SW Probation region is recruiting to 2 x Head of PDU (ACO) roles. A great opportunity to join an enthusiastic & forward looking senior management team committed to making the region the best it can be for our staff & those we work with. See my earlier posts for details & links.
@jimbrownblog I’ve lost count how many times I’ve fed, clothed, listened and shopped for the people we work with - stand proud & we need to keep probations real values . I won’t change !!
So sad ! My 9 year old saved up all her pocket money for months for a labubu - she finally got one on Monday and it’s been taken off her school bag already :( tears all around
Had the great pleasure of meeting staff and prisoners @HMP_HighDown yesterday at the lifer event - a great lifer unit providing support advice and hope for those transitioning back to the community.
Oral hearing today - anxieties aside it showed what can be achieved for someone going through the cjs and rehabilitation process - I’m hopeful for a positive outcome
Whilst I didn’t win - it was an amazing afternoon listening to the inspiring stories from all of the colleagues I work alongside - well done everyone - what a job , and how inspiring it is to work alongside you all - well done
@hm_custserv Have emailed you no response - customer service lady put the phone down after taking my gift card and pin number - seems suspicious there are now no funds
