Brilliant to have you join us @Steph_Peacock discussing the role social enterprises can generate growth and provide preventative solutions to some of our toughest social challenges.
Pleased to speak at the Mission Driven Business reception this evening.
As we set our priorities for government, it was great to discuss how we can work together with the social investment sector to invest in and support communities across the country.
And to round off the event @si_access@sebelsworth. Social enterprises are particularly good at creating growth, growth in areas of deprivation + inclusive growth.
We need to make sure social investment gets to the toughest parts of our economy + to communities who need it most.
“We have the ability to be world-leading on social enterprise. We need to back social organisations to trade, acquire customers and grow with the right type of money and support at the right time”. Our very own CEO @Ali_SchSocEnt
“To transform a failed market into a thriving community - we need social entrepreneurs”. They are the problem solvers in their area says @PollyBLabour MP for East Thanet (we obviously couldn’t agree more!)
York Outer MP @lukejcr as part of Labours Growth Group says for too long the social investing sector has been stuck in neutral and we need to kickstart our support.
Minister for Civil Society @Steph_Peacock highlights £1billion from Dormant Assets money has been unlocked in the last decade and there is more to come to go towards good causes.
The social sector has so much to offer in partnership with government.
