Feel so lucky to have @ScharffAnna as a mentor for my first foray into research. I felt both challenged and extremely supported every step of the way. What a gift!
Excited to share our work in @AJOG_thegray on risk factors for Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex (D-MER), an understudied phenomenon in lactating individuals. Special shout out to co-author @romycappenberg, an outstanding medical student who appears here on her inaugural paper!
Back home from my first "Mechanisms and Models of Cancer" @CSHL - new science and people, sunny beach and forest adventures, and (of course) lobster...
Thanks again to the organisers for a wonderful week @cshlmeetings and the chance to talk about our work!

Truly sad that scientists are resorting to crowdfunding to study basic Qs about human milk/infant formula.
"This research topic, while extremely relevant to parents and caregivers worldwide, is undervalued and underfunded by the scientific community."

@DaveKeating@MaccPosh Here in Hannover, there’s a free test center on every corner, often within view of the next test center. Lots of restaurants, bars and Biergartens also operate test centers on the side. It’s easier to get the test than a reservation for dinner…
@DaveKeating@MaccPosh Since one dose is especially inadequate against delta, I think anyone not fully vaccinated should have to test for indoor dining ect. The solution is to make testing so widespread and easy as to present almost no barrier.
@notdred To think we went from ‘there has never been a vaccine for a coronavirus in humans’ to some of the best vaccines ever created in less than a year is mind-bending.
A day devoted to sex in science! And free registration! Check out this symposium happening next Tuesday 6 April, host by the Association of Young Researchers of the Institut Cochin.
@coddstem @fredhutch Belated congrats, Amy! Was lovely to meet you at the grad student symposium in question, excited for this next step in your journey at @fredhutch!
@traependergrast Not in Germany! Last six weeks before birth and first six weeks after, women aren’t even ALLOWED to work (still get full salary). Six weeks after birth the parental leave kicks in, with partial salary for 12 mths. And still, the health care system functions...
Considering it's a vaccine production powerhouse, should the EU in theory be doing better than this? Sure.
But as I've explained in this thread, that production is supplying the world. It appears EU is exporting about half of the vaccines produced here. https://t.co/n8UqJvp8DC
