@evolvesysuk@FrameworkPuter I'd add that part of Framework's appeal is the upgradability over time, not just how repairable the device is. May be more economical over time, don't know enough about company IT to tell.
@evolvesysuk@FrameworkPuter I think shipping is 2-4 days but it's true that they should improve availability of parts and speed of delivery. Depending on the size of operations, stocking some key components may help. No idea what Dell/HP charge so can't tell if that's a financially viable option.
@evolvesysuk@FrameworkPuter „Building“ a DIY version is not as much effort as it may sound like.
You only have to insert RAM and SSD, put the keyboard on and screw down the bottom.
It’s a matter of 10 minutes, 5 min if you have done it before.
It is a pity, I cannot be at the #SED_2023 but if you are there and have time, please see my coauthor Pavel Brendler present our joint work on "Understanding Wealth Inequality" in the session with @illenin and @serdarozkanEN
👇We compiled data from a range of different sources to construct this racial wealth gap for 160 years. 🥵
We discuss the forces for convergence and across different historical episodes. We find that initial conditions from 160 years ago still shape the racial wealth gap today.
