Sometimes, we face challenging situations, and we wonder why. We ask, "Lord, what did I do to deserve this?" But Jesus gives us a profound answer in John 9:1-7.
As Jesus walked along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth (John 9:1). His disciples asked, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" (John 9:2). They thought the man's blindness was a result of someone's sin. But Jesus replied, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned... This happened so that God's power might be displayed in his life" (John 9:3).
This story shows us that sometimes, bad things happen to good people not because of their sins, but for God's glory. The man's blindness was an opportunity for Jesus to reveal God's power and light.
Jesus took the man's situation and turned it into a miracle. He made mud with his saliva, applied it to the man's eyes, and said, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (John 9:7). The man went, washed, and came back seeing.
This story reminds us that our struggles can be opportunities for God's power to be displayed. We may not always understand why things happen, but we can trust that God works all things for our good (Romans 8:28).
So, when faced with challenges, let's ask, "Lord, how can I display Your power in this situation?" May we, like the man born blind, receive God's healing and become vessels for His glory.
