That's a powerful model for giving and has the potential to positively transform philanthropy in America.

I think many people are overthinking @HopiumMachines. They keep waiting for the project to reveal the thing that finally justifies having hope. That completely misses the joke. It’s called HOPIUM. The website literally tells you the machines print promises, the roadmap is “soon™,” the utility is questionable by design, and the entire project is an elaborate satire of an industry that routinely assigns enormous valuations to things nobody can coherently explain. And that’s precisely why I like it. Look around this market. Tokens reach hundreds of millions in market cap because they reference a meme, an abandoned company name, a cultural moment, or simply because enough people collectively decide this is the one. Nobody demands a discounted-cash-flow model for those. Yet somehow with Hopium, people keep asking: “But what’s the catalyst?” “What’s the big utility?” “What are we waiting for?” Hope. You’re waiting for hope. That’s the fucking product. The funniest part is that while making fun of projects that promise everything, the solo dev behind Hopium keeps actually shipping. The ecosystem is expanding, useful tooling is appearing, and people are showing up. So now you have something wonderfully backwards: A project whose entire premise is that it promises you nothing… that keeps delivering things anyway. Meanwhile projects promising you everything routinely deliver nothing. That contradiction isn’t a weakness in @HopiumMachines. It may be the best part of the entire concept. It’s like #Kafka launched a project on @RobinhoodCrypto
