@KevinMaddenDC I know it should only be minorly embarrassing, if at all, but once in a while I wince at the thought that it would sometimes take me an hour to pick a movie. I can just hear the 17-year-old clerk thinking to himself, “Damn, kid, just pick something.”
@JBSDC Just beware of using the actual lingo in front of them. My 12-year-old chastised me quite harshly yesterday in the car for pointing out that seeing deer cross our path “slays.”
The first issue I had after law school was the bogus claim that the vaccine preservative thimerosal caused autism in children. This nonsense will not die and it’s infuriating. So much of history will repeat itself, but childhood diseases like polio and diphtheria don’t have to.
The Community Note under this tweet won’t be publicly visible for several days.
That will allow RFK’s false claims to reach millions of people and undermine trust in childhood vaccines that have saved countless lives.
@NikitaBier, is there any solution planned for this?
This makes me sad for a different reason: if you want to come back to Capitol Hill after law school and don’t want to be an actual practicing lawyer, skip law school. Just get really, really good at your job. Grad school, including law school, is not a substitute for that.
@libsoftiktok If making it so my kid missed first grade for no good reason is somehow in service to our country, then I suppose he’s right. It is true that no senator ever achieved that feat.
We’re planning another USA trip this fall!🇺🇸
It’s going to be a road trip with college football as the main focus, but we’re also planning to check out plenty of other sports and unique American events.
The idea for this trip actually came from our visits to a few colleges on the last trip. Everyone told us how crazy it gets on gamedays, so now we want to experience it ourselves.
Now we need your expertise: Which colleges should we visit? What games are interesting? And what other events or activities (also non sporting related) are worth checking out in September/October?
So far we have these on our list:
- Oktoberfest in Helen, GA
- Texas State Fair
- Breeders' Cup in Kentucky
I agree. I’m not an avid golfer but play once in a while. I get that snowman on every first hole. I then proceed to get my standard one or two over par for the next 17 holes. That first hole is so frustrating.
