Representation is so important! A few weeks back, Caleb caught a news story of a young man running with excitement - Morehouse acceptance letter in hand. It inspired him! With an understanding that his mind could change next week, for now I will share his excitement ❤️ #Morehouse
Since I’m in a posting mood!😬 (I’ll get better). This week I also participated in the Intro To Play Therapy session with Dr. Tiffany McNary & it was fabulous! I am intentionally aligning myself with experiences that feed my soul & address social-emotional needs of students! ❤️

Words are powerful! What we pour into children is what we get out. Plant seeds of love, positivity, peace and resilience. Good morning ❤️ #Affirmations#AffirmationStation
Don’t forget your local libraries as a resource to encourage healthy reading habits! “Research has shown that the amount of time children spend with books is crucial to reading achievement, and ultimately, to school achievement in general.” @cobblibrary#literacy#raisingreaders
“Writing is really a way of thinking -- not just feeling but thinking about things that are disparate, unresolved, mysterious, problematic or just sweet.”✏️ #ToniMorrison💕 #wellreadblackgirl
It's also National Poetry Month! Students are writing acrostic and cinquain poems! The school psychologist at Hendricks Elementary, Travanti Jenkins-Joyner uses the poetry club for students to creatively acknowledge and express their feelings!#EmotionalIntelligence
