@heymrsbond As a Waldorf teacher I looped with my class. The ideal is 8 years, but my longest stretch was 1 through 7. The workload is huge but so is the satisfaction of coming back to school in September already knowing one’s students.
@gabe2663 Read my teaching memoir, A Gift of Wonder which shows how to spark wonder, curiosity and critical thinking in the context of teaching solid content
@HighnessOphelia I was adopted at 18 months old from a stable foster family. I’m 71 now and my fear of abandonment invades every day. More than abandonment actually. My entire life changed overnight. This could happen again. Anytime. That’s my fear
@MeggieSueWrites Come up with a “go to” sentence. Tweak it over time. Mine was “ a climate healing novel for kids”. Then people assumed I meant little kids. So now it’s …for teens and preteens.
@oldtimecitizen @Deb_in_Indiana @julieruble@MeganMarjorie1@Lindsbinds621 Practices that do good for some people but are hurtful for others need to be updated to serve everyone
@sage_stage @garyrgruber I’ve had a few moms in similar situations. One was a veterinary surgeon. But then I’ve also had moms who told me my emails were too long and that she didn’t read emails on weekends
@AuthorGoodwin I point out dialogue that doesn't fit the era. It drives me crazy. Example: today the word "space" is used in many ways (head space, hold space etc) Before computers redefined it (memory space etc) space was physical. A character in 1900 would not speak about head space.
@brclothwrites He's got a knife! Eleanor of Aquitaine : Of course he has a knife, he always has a knife, we all have knives! It's 1183 and we're barbarians!
