Mrs. Fisher’s AP 11 class used the collaboration stations in the @LOHS_LC today to conduct some rhetorical analysis of different commercials. #ProtectTheThunder#AlwaysLakeOrion
Always my favorite day when reading @DanielPink’s A Whole New Mind!! 🧠Thank you, @KyleAGavulic, for speaking with us about narrative medicine and letting us practice patient-centered, open-ended questioning.
I haven’t had a class that’s made me laugh like this one in a minute. Thanks for sharing your last semester of high school with me. It’s been a J O Y. ✨ Happy Last Day, Class of 2022!!!
Jumped on the @PlayBlooket bandwagon today after learning about it at #macul22. Thing got intense as we reviewed for our Commonly Confused Words quiz in Fundamentals of Writing.
Tried a new Reader’s Notebook Strategy with English 11 today: Patches of Thinking. Students took their initial reading jots and expanded their thinking on three patches — theme, character, and conflict — in The Kite Runner.
Students prepared the questions for Kyle to address during his mini-lecture, and then they participated in a role play activity, where they assumed the role of a physician and asked the patient questions using the narrative medicine technique to aid in diagnosis.
The day I look forward to the most every time I teach @DanielPink’s A Whole New Mind: Zooming with my brother and future doctor, @KyleAGavulic, about narrative medicine.
Reading books help kids explore the many voices that most accurately represent the American experience. Banning books also ban difficult dialogues which kids are more than capable of having. #BannedBooks

Forever admiring my students’ Reader’s Notebooks.✏️ Today, Honors 10 students completed one pagers to analyze how the protagonists in their novels view the world.🌎
