We are pleased to see our recent contribution to ACS Applied Energy Journal has been published as the Front Cover. Congratulations to all authors and Prof. @EDoustkhah's, Prof. S. Kaya, and Dr. Julio Gutierrez groups!
BSC researcher & #MaterialsScience Group Leader Julio Gutiérrez Moreno has co-authored a paper in @ACSPublications Applied Energy Materials journal, which was selected for the journal cover:
✨ “Interlayer Atomic Voids by Partial Cesium Defect in Layered Titanate Activate Photo(electro)catalytic H₂ and O₂ Generation”
The study found a way to make a normally inactive material useful for clean energy. By creating tiny defects in its atomic structure, the team made it generate hydrogen and oxygen from water.
⚡This shows how advanced computational modelling and materials science can pave the way towards more efficient and sustainable energy conversion.

Prof. Bando, Prof. Yamauchi's previous boss in Japan, has reached his 77th birthday anniversary (喜寿). A celebration party was held in China. Yamauchi labo's alumni in China, including Dr. C Li, Dr. J Tang, Dr. X Jiang, Dr. J Bo, and Dr. Y Li, celebrated his birthday. Congrats!!
@ACS4Authors#MyACSCover This work presents a spindle-rod-peanut-dumbbell-sphere morphological transition of siderite induced by iron-reducing bacteria Shewanella oneidensis MR-4. These siderite particles are composed of many single-crystal siderite plates.
