@mrjamesob is easy to explain unpleasant views to your kids if it backs your worldview-it's just part of your narrative so your children(till a certain age)accept it.We pass on our views all the time in our words/actions,sadly it's as easy to make hate the norm as it is kindness.

Forget lockdown, children suffer due to terrible education policy dictated by people that have presumably never set foot in an actual school, a total lack of respect for teachers, and a failing system. Teachers are dedicated to their kids - that's why they're striking.

@mrjamesob the sad thing is that it's easy to explain things to your children that back up your own world view. It will always be part of your narrative so it will make sense. We all pass on our views to our kids all the time, and it's as easy to pass on hatred as it kindness.

@PaulCaden1 We have a big family - we don't go away in the summer! If you go all inclusive it ultimately works out much cheaper when you take kids. Used to book flights and hotel direct but didn't make much difference this year. Sort out your own taxis to and from airport.

@Mr_Charles20 Exactly - I reckon we are on the same side on the fundamentals. The stuff we disagree on tends to be things that are moulded by our own experiences so pretty subjective really. As long as it stays good natured it's always good to hear a different perspective.

@Jo_c_gray I grew up in Inverness and we call it cheesy beanos. (I'm not sure anyone else does so that may technically not be a Scottish thing!)

@teach_gb @Mr_Charles20 I have always had high expectations of my classes and consequntly good relationships. we're not talking about allowing chaos to rule. it's allowing kids to be humans with human issues. Can you imagine if we imposed the same on adults regardless of circumstances?

Universally hated by teachers, children and parents. Surely it's time for them to go now.
