@CP24 Hey, @BryannAguilar can you confirm that this was a dooring (ie the door was opened into the path of this scooter user)? It seems unlikely that they just ran into an open door of this vehicle at speed...

TPS isn’t making any friends here. The lack of a scooter pilot in Toronto has pitted mobility device users against TPS unnecessarily. But the least they could do is use neutral language when talking about doorings…this is basic stuff that the cycling community has been dealing with for years…

@cityoftoronto Typical. Everyone wants and expects us to be more environmentally conscious.. Use less gas, build 15 min communities, but then restrict how we can get around.. You CAN use those in Edmonton, IF YOU USE the ones the city gets a cut of.

Wouldn’t this help with the “cars cause pollution” messaging?
It’s cheap and affordable transportation around cities.
The other issue is how people ride them, but banning them seems to go against the political mantra.

Why don't you adjust bylaws accordingly to keep people safe instead of pretending these will just go away?
