I tested codex for the first time yesterday after being backed into a corner with terrible CC performance and token burn. Gotta say, codex surprised me. It converted the Claude md into an agent md, cleaned up the directory and started cooking in a surprisingly quick amount of time. It was fast and didn’t meander. I’m not going to switch but it got my attention
