Adding even more, the relatively high oil prices right now, especially for further away delivery months due to relatively low backwardation, is extremely helpfull for U.S. to invest in new fracking facilities for Shale-oil companies, as they can lock in future margins at extremely high rates rn.

Would you be able to explain why forward curves for oil have been backwardeted for such a prolonged period of time? As they historically have been in contango but since 2020 that has shifted.
