Advocate Jibran Nasir criticised the PPP-led Sindh government and Sindh Home Minister, accusing them of targeting the officer who, he said, was the only government official to perform her duties properly in the Mir Raza case.

Nasir said the officer had flagged discrepancies in the post-mortem report but was now facing criticism from the Home Minister. He also accused the government and the PPP of carrying out a “witch-hunt” against her.

Saying there was “no hope” from the PPP-led Sindh government, Nasir alleged that authorities were instead favouring those who had sought to portray Mir Raza’s death as a suicide from the outset.

If it were not for @DrSueTariq, Mir Raza Ali’s parents would never get justice. Her statement on TV, made while ignoring all the consequences of losing her job and going against the status quo, made history by reporting and exposing the forgery committed by the police and the entire health department in this case.

Their struggle reminds me of Nazim Jokhio’s case, where an entire village was pressured to boycott his wife because she refused to accept diyat. She was left isolated, with little support and no real protection from the system.

This is the tragedy of Sindh.. whether you are from Karachi or any other part of the province, ordinary families are too often left to fight for justice on their own.

I still remember when Murtaza Wahab (@murtazawahab1) personally went to the airport to receive PPP MNA Jam Abdul Karim, a main culprit in the Nazim Jokhio murder case, and drove him straight to the Sindh High Court to secure protective pre-arrest bail. That image says a lot about how power works in Sindh.
