So what would have happened if the best boys in US schools had been allowed to compete in all the womens athletics and swimming events at Rio 2016?
Women would have got 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze.
Below (thread) is a comparison of the finalists of a 2016 USA High School National track meet vs finalists of the Olympic Women's track and fields events in 2016.
tl;dr: see the image for a medal count had the two events been combined.

Confirms what we already know. But this article is v misleading.
It is inclusion of MALES in women’s sports that is the problem.
There are ZERO “moves to exclude” males from sport. The only moves around are to get MALES to leave the FEMALE category. 😤
The USA Fencing Minnesota division would rather eliminate their female category altogether than protect women’s sports.
These people are shameless.

Personally I’m very pleased to see stonewall being dropped by so many sporting bodies. A once wonderful organisation that did so much good for gay rights turned into an anti women men’s rights lobby group. Keeping themselves in jobs& Misrepresenting Equality law to sports associations repeatedly
@LucyHunterB @McBrideVersus Off-topic, sorry, but the person you're replying to is invisible to me (many? most?) because, perhaps, they have their account locked.
It destroys the readability of the thread.
If you are interested in women's sport, and eligibility rules for women's sport at elite and sub-elite level, (and if you aren't, why on earth are you following me?) stay tuned tomorrow.
Why is BBC World Service putting out a breathless little fluff piece about child transition now?
After Tavistock, Cass...
This is like a return to circa 2015 gushing media enthrallment with the 'trans child' - inexcusable back then, it seems deliberately provocative now.
@jk_rowling I'm not sure that Erin isn't half right. Any one with political sense can see that 'the sports issue' is hurting their cause. So why not drop it? Because they can't give up on TWAW. The metaphysics won't let them. It all comes crumbling down. On them.
@bluesky Will I be allowed to say
"women are female, transwomen are male, therefore transwomen are not women",
or
"there are only 2 sexes - male and female"
or
"males have no place in women's and girls' sports"?
Because these are all true, but seem to be crimes on bluesky.
This! Boxing has a massive number of rules - as you would expect, to ensure boxers’ safety. Yet IOC have no interest in sex of the boxers which has an enormous impact on safety. Why?
Also, why do they have a women’s category? What is its rationale?
This is probably the most authoritative explainer of the XY boxing scandal out there. It is written by Professor Coleman, world expert on DSD in sport

I'm a little surprised, and not in a good way, by the number and variety of people who have told female athletes in one way or another to shut up, button their lip, bite their tongue, know their place.
Here, for example, with a sprinkling of emotional blackmail.
@BowesChay I don't need this Kremlin krap in my timeline .
As brexit proved, no country that dislikes the EU rules needs to remain in the EU.
Orban, like Chay, is a friend of Putin.
Anyone recycling this crap is a fool.
NEW: A month after delivering its damning conclusion that children were failed by NHS gender services, the Cass Review team is winding down. It was my pleasure to speak with Dr Hilary Cass for her final UK interview - her broadest and most reflective yet. https://t.co/uNVwWRezKI
A video helpfully illustrating the absurdity of ignoring reality of biological sex. However, we should also recognize that this male would be well beaten by Bol, Adeleke, Miller-Uibo etc, and thus a participant in IOC funded research published in @BJSM_BMJ concluding no advantage
I would like my colleagues* in the Philosophy of Sport community to watch this and reflect on it. And the academic sport community more widely.
Because that's what we do - watch sport and reflect on it.
*many, but not all, have got the memo.

And he’s barely even trying by the looks of it. If the authorities approve of this anti-social cheating behaviour and the rules allow it, then the public will need to defeat this by social shaming. #SaveWomensSports
