Pub Sign of the Week: Scotch Piper, Lydiate, Merseyside

The oldest pub in the historic county of Lancashire apparently. The story behind the name goes a Scottish soldier was fleeing the English, fell in love with a local lass who sheltered him in the pub.

Just to confirm we have decided not to reopen tomorrow as it seems we are still in the same predicament as when we were in tier 3! We are looking into whether it will be financially viable to introduce food in the coming weeks. Hope you are all in good spirits and keeping well.
