Have you seen these signs popping up around Edinburgh? They mark the boundary of our #LowEmissionZone, which we’ll begin enforcing on 1 June. Find out more about the boundary, who’s affected and how you can prepare https://t.co/TxOyk0Mh8K

I lost a green & white Waitrose bag for life outside Waverley this afternoon somewhere btwn the escalators to Princes St & @on_lothianbuses bus stop PQ just after 4pm. It’s only got food in it, but I’d really like to get back my Tupperware containers & camping cutlery #longshot

The Pentland Hills should be Edinburgh’s lungs but overgrazing and burning the hills for grouse shooting reduces biodiversity and prevent trees from growing.
Flood risk is reduced when rivers can access their floodplain. Here, the River Feshie in the Cairngorms, is ‘allowed’ to flow into an alder woodland, where it branches off into more channels, thus distributing water across the land, and slowing the flow. #riverwoods#northwoods
Today’s the last day of the Great Scottish Squirrel Survey. It’s not too late to go out and see if you can find any squirrels - if you can safely brave the weather.
This is what 50 years of woodland expansion looks like.
Our new research published in @JAppliedEcology demonstrates the potential of woodland expansion in the presence of deer... without fencing or extensive planting.

Obeying laws means sacrificing freedoms. The payback is that a stable state provides resources to society– homes, health, education. Climate breakdown will prevent this & if the state is precipitating it, maybe we should ask ‘is it time to break the law'

Really disappointing to see that @ScottishSPCA has no interest in this campaign. Maybe you'd like to do something about it @BritishVets? Even if only to share the tweet to your followers. Anything to help spread the word and give more power to the petition.
Did you know that antifreeze has a sweet taste which means pets can easily lick/drink it? It's toxic so it kills them. Please sign this petition to have the taste changed to protect animals (and people).

I’m curious to know how they got the dog up the Inaccessible Pinnacle. I don’t have a great head for heights when climbing, so this is one Munro that I might not ever even do. I’d struggle trying to get a dog up there as well as myself.

@theiaincameron That looks a good route. No scrambling or climbing needed, I gather. How long did it take you and what was the total distance? I might have to try that one myself sometime 🙂
We welcome @scotgov's publication this morning of a major consultation outlining their strategy to reversing nature loss.
This new framework includes crucial steps to restoring nature, including the establishment of legal targets.
