@AleResnik Greatness is getting boat raced and embarrassed by Spain for 120 minutes? Talk about your lack of self awareness. Zero shots is zero shots is any language or culture....
@hmn_alchemy@3four3 This also seems like an odd take knowing a large portion of the biggest MLS supporters are Hispanic, south American and soccer first families that push soccer in this country. They keep MLS going.
@hmn_alchemy@3four3 You are correct here. The MLS is the 1000 pound gorilla and the best way for most kids with the requisite talent to get in the pro pipeline and hopefully make it to Europe.
@foneybaloney26@3four3 The insults my friend don't help your cause. (whatever your cause may be, unclear) The US is doing well and will continue to do well with our best players playing in massive clubs in massive league, like we have now.
@foneybaloney26@3four3 I am not comparing McKinnie to German national team players. McKinnie is a starter on JUVE. That means something. I would look at the best US players in Europe at big clubs playing under real pressure and pick from there. And encourage more to go overseas.
@mortizec@3four3 MLS guys are not pushing them, Tanner Tessman is, Musah is, et al and other guys already in Europe. The MLS is not our player pool for USMNT largely. Would MLS players be better with Pro/rel, sure, but I still want out top buys in world class clubs like JUVE
@ArtShop1971@3four3 Belgium Transfermarket starting 11 about 270 million, US about 240 Million. I like Pro/rel, I want it here. I just don't think its a panacea to better USMNT. OUr best players need to go to Europe even if a USL 2 team has a direct path to MLS.
@foneybaloney26@3four3 Comparing one player directly to another is a fools errand most of the time. They are all different and bring different things to the game. Are they respected in a top league in the world that does have Pro/Rel and real stakes are on the line? For all those guys, yes.
@foneybaloney26@3four3 Well, he can play any position on the field at top level for one of the best clubs in the world. That's good enough for our USMNT.
@foneybaloney26@3four3 Not everyone has the best player in the world at each position. We have always wanted our best players in europe at big teams. We now have starters at big teams. Only one team in the WC has Messi or Holland.
@foneybaloney26@3four3 Mckennie has been a stalwart at JUVE for years. I anticipate the JUVE coaches know a little something about the game and have a reason they start him and pay him. ( their jobs are on the line). Jedi is regularly voted player of the year at Fulham, again, jobs are on the line.
@3four3 To sum up, our coach coached at Chelsea, PSG and Tottenham and most of our guys play in a big five league ( for huge teams) We are doing alright. Lots of teams are watching this week.
@3four3 Maybe not a question just a take. I disagree that MLS is holding the USMNT back much. We don't pull from MLS much (as we shouldn't) and we have lots of kids in Europe for the future. I remember when the USMNT had about 18 guys from MLS on the roster. Those were bleak times.
