@ATT spent 1.5 hours on the phone with tech support then I got cut off. Called back only to be told it would be a 2 hour wait. So I waited 2 hours and got a call back only to be cut off again. Now the wait is 4+ hours. This is not a good look.
Swimming up steam and recruiting earlier in the degree process is an increasingly used tactic but more importantly thoughtfully designing an employee experience that serves your team and your clients is the most sustainable approach to recruiting.
Career fairs are nothing new but the demand for skilled labor is so high that companies are making huge investments to attract young talent to their industry. Just saw a 18 wheel trailer decked out with 5 semi truck simulators at a middle school career fair.
It is becoming especially competitive in industries where there are high barriers to entry but low barriers to self employment. Industries like Cosmetology and Architecture both require specialized degrees and state licenses to practice but low start up cost to self employ.
@Michael_Easter I really enjoyed your book The Comfort Crisis. The way you wrapped the science with narratives and then wrapped the smaller narratives with a story that spanned the entire book made for a very compelling read.
A small business can only grow equal to it’s capacity to make good decisions. Increasing decesion making capacity comes from investments in people and processes.
@Delta thought Delta had better customer service but now that I have been stranded at the Atlanta airport with out the slightest bit of concern from your customer service I have changed my mind about you.
