Wise words from Chris Stewart on national policy ambitions in Scotland versus lack of engagement and delivery locally. @DundeeCouncil one of the few making it work in Scotland, in contrast to real leadership and collaboration in other UK cities. #spfconf22
It was announced on 11 February 2022 that Scottish planning fees will rise from 1 April 2022, for the first time in eight years. SHP have prepared a summary document which outlines the key changes to planning fees - https://t.co/ZdmAZb8mty
These are serious findings not just for the planning profession and the health and wellbeing of local authority planners, but a real constraint on economic recovery post-pandemic (which is well underway).
Such a regrettable comment from an association whose representatives appear to have no respect for a hospitality sector on its knees, yet so critical to economic prospects and livelihoods.
Cliff Hague, Cockburn Association, said:
โWeighing these risks I think it would be wrong to make a big push for tourists in August. Money earmarked by a cash-strapped council for tourism advertising could be better used in many other ways.โ
