@scottmace2@LukeBornheimer Yeah, that wasn't clear. The answer to your original question is: where there are bike lanes, cyclists use them. Where there are not, cyclists merge in traffic the best they can. Car traffic is really bad there but the city is easing it, partially by extending bike lanes.
@LukeBornheimer@scottmace2 Yeah...offline. You can use more crashes before and after...but your question was what would convince me. And, just from my personal experience, I've been MORE likely to ride on Valencia since the new bike lane. More riders mean potentially more accidents so % would convince me.
@LukeBornheimer@scottmace2 I think a % such as # of crashes/# of cyclists for six months before the center bikeway opened vs the same % with the new bike lane. Valencia used to have a bike counter so the "before" data may be available. What do you think?
@LukeBornheimer@scottmace2 I'm not blaming anyone; I have my own life to deal with. We all want safe and efficient transportation in SF, Valencia in this case. I don't know what the right answer is but I'm not convinced yet that the center bike lane is the problem you seem to think it is.
@scottmace2@LukeBornheimer Cyclists and drivers seem less.....legally constrained...there. Cycling in Colombia has been a huge sport and is becoming a more common way to get around. Bogota often seems like a nightmare for anything but careful walking but they seem serious about improving biking.
@LukeBornheimer@scottmace2 Oh Lord. I'm not surprised at the stats. I've seen cyclists there merging onto busy highways like they were riding motorcycles instead of bicycles. My point is that there are smart urban planners who sometimes decide the safest place to put a bike lane is in the center.
@LukeBornheimer@scottmace2 Bogotá has the most extensive and comprehensive network of bike paths in the Americas. And some of them are in the center of a road. https://t.co/m9H1aSCuUl

@LukeBornheimer@BetterValencia@valencia4people I regularly ride on Valencia and I'm still quite happy with the current design. I keep trying to ask my fellow cyclists on Valencia what they think of the design, but bike traffic moves so smoothly that hardly anyone needs to stop at the lights anymore.
@LukeBornheimer@Underscore_SF@BetterValencia@valencia4people I ride on Valencia a lot and it's MUCH safer now. Making it a pedestrian only street might be ok, but the current setup is enough of a hassle for businesses trying to get deliveries.
@JackieT_97@JoeDworetzky Many working people would like to live in SF but live elsewhere because of housing costs. So why must we find housing in SF for people who, for the most part, do not work? Can't the city provide shelter and support services somewhere less expensive?
@mkraju It doesn't matter if they were licked up or if Biden also had them. Trump violated the law by taking them when he was no longer president. Here's a bit of of the indictment in case you haven't read it
@MAGARIFFIC2@MiaFarrow I guess you missed page 5 in the Indictment where it showed that Trump did not make the SS aware that he kept docs at Mara Largo.
@AccountableGOP From January to March 2021, he was storing them in a ballroom. Which was booked for events. Part of the time they were stored on the ballroom STAGE!
@elle_kaye11@LawsuitsDevin@timatotoro@Acyn I wish we could all drop the "ism" stuff and just compare policy. Like do we want the government to let women got abortions...at all? Can we restrict assault rifle sales? Should tax money fund private schools?
