AWW YISS!!! It's PUB DAY for my new space horror novel EDGE OF THE WIRE. (My first book in four years!) Big thanks to everyone who provided advice, blurbs, or other assistance. You can pick up a copy on Amazon, or wherever new books are sold! https://t.co/yAAcYOyfSe
Stop what you are doing and watch #WidowsBay on Apple immediately — it’s smart, scary, silly and truly a joy to watch!
A Matthew Rhys performance for the ages & “Beach Reads” might be year’s best episode of television.
I am DELIGHTED that Chicago-area horror writer Daniel Kraus has won the Pulitzer! It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy! (~12 years ago, I was on a discussion panel about zombies with Daniel at a college in the Loop, and literally NO ONE came so we just went and drank at the Congress Plaza hotel bar. Today, all I can think is: IF ONLY THOSE COLLEGE STUDENTS HAD KNOWN.)
Now watching: “The Lonely,” a “Twilight Zone” episode with Jack Warden as a convict on an asteroid who falls in love with a robot companion, played by Jean Marsh. Rod Serling wrote this seven decades ago! Incredible.
What a day at @C2E2 2026! 🚀
Argonne researchers and @UChicago colleagues took the stage for three panels on sci-fi, AI, astrobiology, and yes — zombie outbreaks. Science is one of the most powerful catalysts for creativity.

Just got home after witnessing one of the most incredible sports moments of my life! How am I supposed to sleep? Big thanks to @ScottKenemore for the invite!
The house across from the ICE shooting in Minneapolis today has a gigantic Tyrannosaurus Rex smashing a real car in the driveway.
I’m not real sure what’s going on anymore…
On Wednesday, January 14 at 7pm, I'll be taking part in the "Why I Love Horror" panel discussion at Park Ridge Public Library with Christopher Hawkins, Cynthia Pelayo, Christopher Bevard, and Grace Daly. More info here:
