Absolutely spot on! I’ve joined Chris and Brett’s program specifically to avoid this outcome. Three months in and the process and results are nothing short of remarkable.
You were handed a playbook at birth.
Go to school. Get a job. Trade your time for dollars. Trust the system to take care of you.
But nobody told you there was already an architecture in place designed to extract away everything you've worked so hard to build. The military-healthcare-pharmaceutical industrial complex.
You can see it clearly when you watch your parents hit their 70s. The money doesn't go toward the life they earned. It flows directly back into the system that created the conditions for their decline in the first place. The food system kept them inflamed and now they're dependent on hospital visits, specialist copays, and prescriptions that treat the side effects of other prescriptions.
Forty years of work, and the back half of the game looks nothing like what they were promised. The nest egg slowly being siphoned off one medication/treatment/hospitalization at a time.
I spent 10 years as a physical therapist in home health, walking into the homes of people in their 60s, 70s and 80s who were on 5, 10, sometimes 12+ medications. These weren't people who were sick from bad luck. They were sick from decades of following the path the system wanted them to follow turning them into a decades long customer of the machine.
It's no coincidence that nutrition is more complicated than ever or that nobody ever asks what they were eating. The same goes for the importance of muscle mass, insulin resistance or the fact that chronic inflammation is actually reversible if you catch it early enough. The system wasn't designed to reverse anything. It was designed to manage decline, and charge accordingly.
This is what nobody tells you when you're 35 and grinding. The game isn't just about building wealth it's about protecting it from a system that has a very specific plan for where it ends up.
Your health is the only real hedge you have. If your body breaks down, your 401k, real estate, or savings account all becomes a payment plan for the people who had no interest in keeping you healthy in the first place.
The most rebellious thing you can do right now, at 40, 50, or 60, is to take your health seriously before the system gets its hands on it. The counter to the machine isn't complicated, it's just inconvenient for the people profiting from your decline. Build muscle, stabilize your blood sugar and work toward getting off the medications that are treating symptoms instead of root causes.
None of that is complicated, but it does require rejecting the playbook they handed you at birth and deciding that the back half of your life is going to look different than what you watched your parents go through.
Your parents didn't know the game they were playing. But you do. And that difference can shape the future for you, your kids, and grandkids.
@brettboettcher1 Spot on! Caring for my mother who has all of these maladies right now. It’s a challenge at best. And, the reason I started your program myself
This property tax rebate program for new construction is great - but, how about reducing the property tax burden for all residents while we're at it?!
