Gary Patterson was the lead official for Louisville vs Clemson in 2016.

Patterson’s daughter was a student at Clemson at the time and social media seemed to indicate that Patterson had attended Clemson games as a fan previously.

In the game the down markers went missing on the final play, Lamar Jackson was choked in the pile and not called along with at least 3 missed PI calls on Clemson.

At the time the ACC defended him.
