All time Denver area green bird #312, Yellow-throated Warbler! Only 5.5 miles from my house. 35F, breezy and flurries made for a cold ride. I got it though!

Rode my bike across Denver and saw 7 long-eared owls roosting together and 2 (locally rare) Golden-crowned sparrows. Green year is on!

@AndyJBoyce @shahselbe It’s been a disappointment that the Biden admin and Obama admin didn’t boost domestic agency budgets. FWS MB budgets have been flat for 11 years, meaning cuts in capacity and available discretionary funds with increased costs. Lost opps.

After being dirty and driving 20 min to see Bohemian waxwings 9 days ago, then riding 3 miles and seeing 40, I had 38+ in my patch and from my YARD today in Littleton. That dirty drive opened the door to sweetness.

Green birding today yielded locally rare Bohemian Waxwings, a dark Ferruginous hawk and this GPS tagged cackling goose! The goose was banded in northern AK in July 2022 by my USFWS colleagues!
